Part love letter, part exposé, Chloe’s Revenge is a musical theatre-inspired show that pulls back the curtain on the pro-am musical theatre “industry” in Aotearoa. With biting wit, Chloe lays bare the heartbreak of rejection from the world she adores, and turns that pain into power. This is a story of survival, self-discovery, and the ultimate comeback: becoming the best version of yourself when the system says you don’t belong. You don't have to be a "musical theatre person" to enjoy this show. In fact, it's better if you're not.

About Chloe
Chloe is a theatre baby who grew up watching an abundance of Filipino excellence on stage and screen: from Lea Salonga to Vanessa Hudgens, Darren Criss and Eva Noblezada, to name a few. You can imagine her surprise when the pathway to follow in the footsteps of these greats seemed to be obstructed in Aotearoa. She's spent most of her life so far revolving in and out of stage doors, trying to forge this path for herself. Her current multi-hyphenate career description is "Actor - Stage Manager - Vocal Coach - Artist". But check back in a few years when she'll unabashedly add "Director - Writer" on there too!
Artist thank yous:
Charlotte West, for giving me the idea to do this whole thing in the first place.
Samantha Cheong, one of the first believers in this show, and my birthday show guitarist.
Izzi, Sally, Rose, Nadia, Marc, and all you Pōneke locals who have made my time here so lovely.
Sarai, LJ, Dennis, Tania, Eugenie, Dickson, Anthony and all the team at BATS.
Anyone who has ever attended a showing, open rehearsal, or rough dress rehearsal of this show - thanks for helping me test out the audience interaction bits.
Queenie and Kalia, for being my rocks in this sea of craziness.
Ben, Dani, and Jadyn, for always being in my corner.
My mum, for being my #1 cheerleader and allowing me the luxury of falling in love with musical theatre.
Artist note:
I thought that making a show about something I complain about on a regular basis would be easy. But despite the, at times, distressing process, I feel so lucky to have been given the space, time, and resources to even do such a thing. During my creative residency my goal was to expand on as many ideas as I could - whether that was through free writing, research, or chatting to people for different perspectives on the pro-am structure - I wanted to leave no stone unturned. The show you are about to watch, or perhaps just saw, is the result of all of that expansion. It is also not the final version of "Chloe's Revenge". It is a version of the show that I hope challenges your thinking, makes you feel uncomfortable, and brings a smile to your face. As they say in Hairspray the musical "We've come so far but we've got so far to go."Chloe is a theatre baby who grew up watching an abundance of Filipino excellence on stage and screen
